We have heard about the infamous ‘Couch Potato’ or a person who spends a lot of time watching the television. Do you know what an Aldelo System is? As the computer age has dawned, it is just inevitable that a new word is formed in relation to computer. Couch potato, meet ‘Mouse Potato.’
Much like a couch potato, a mouse potato is a person who spends a lot of his leisure time in from of the computer.
As a compound word, mouse potato can be broken into two different words. Obviously, these words are mouse and potato. The word mouse, of course, refers to the computer device and not the crawly creatures (ew!). But I seldom wonder why people have attached the words couch and mouse to the word potato. If we think about it figuratively, maybe we’ll get the answer. Maybe it’s something about being a vegetable? Well, isn’t it right that people who are deemed unproductive are sometimes referred to as vegetables? Well, I’m just guessing. Its all up to you to decipher this.
